Conclusion:
Housing Associations provide rented housing similar to local councils – often to people on a low income or who need special types of housing. Some of them provide homes for particular groups of people, such as sheltered housing. They do not make a profit, and many are charitable organisations. They are often called Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) or Registered Providers (RPs). Most properties can be applied for directly, while others are allocated through a choice-based lettings scheme (CBL).
