Robert, Chair of RETAS

Robert Gosling

(Chair of Trustees)

I am Robert, the Chair of Trustees, and I take immense pride in the exceptional work of our organization. Our efforts to foster a sense of belonging among refugees and asylum seekers and facilitate their smooth integration into society are of great significance. In my free time, I am an active participant in local politics and a fervent supporter of the Halifax RLFC and the Yorkshire County Cricket Club. As a committed member of our team, I remain dedicated to creating a supportive environment for refugees and helping them contribute to society.

Matt

Matt Thornfield

(Treasurer)

I’m Matt, the Treasurer of RETAS. With 20 years of experience in IT and risk management in banking, I now teach computer programming. I became involved with supporting asylum seekers through volunteering three years ago, and have gained an understanding of the asylum process and the importance of support. As a previous charity treasurer, I eagerly joined RETAS as Treasurer. The work, dedication and ethos of the staff, volunteers and trustees make RETAS a truly uplifting and enjoyable environment to be part of.

LIZ, RETAS Trustee

         Liz Campell

            (Trustee)

I’m Liz, an advocate of diversity and inclusion in education, and a retired school project manager. At RETAS, where I volunteer in drop-in advice sessions, I witnessed the positive impact of advisers who provide problem-solving solutions to complex migration issues, and offer hope to refugees and asylum seekers. As a trustee, I’m committed to developing RETAS’ structure to best support and offer services to refugees and asylum seekers. I’m enthusiastic about increasing RETAS’ visibility through our website and social media, and in my free time, I enjoy campervanning in Europe and listening to world music.
